a mini-reflection on 2024

This year has definitely been a busy ride.

I redeemed myself with Georgia Tech’s Introduction to Analytics Modeling through EdX, graduated my Masters program, piqued an interest in my spiritual and cultural side, got on anti-depressants, anti-anxiety and ADHD medications, got off them, did the Inner Engineering program, started re-learning my mother tongue and learning Sanskrit, reduced the active learning of Sanskrit and the Bhagavad Gita, unfortunately.

Despite the title of this post being a “reflection on 2024”, the main takeaways about this post is what I’m going to do in 2025 thanks to the last few days of 2024.

In the ending days of 2024, I realized that the spiritual and cultural interests shouldn’t override my professional and financial growth thanks to the materialistic needs of this world. I went back to the interests of an old self and decided to finally plunge in the world of electronics and mix this in my previous interest of IoT and smart ready cities.

As if it were a sign, I came across a Reddit post about someone who decided to blog about their AI learnings, daily, and was immensely inspired to do the same. Maybe not about AI but with what I meant to write and want to write on this blog.

Having said all this, I was facing the deepest regret and unsurety about stopping my Bhagavad Gita lessons but that is no longer the case. I will continue to learn where I can, when I can.

To have a more numerical and graphical based tracking of this year, I will log everything here.

One of the biggest things that helped me in 2024 was Motion and I will now continue to do so to track and schedule my tasks meanwhile, project management is tracked in Linear. Something I’m working on improving in 2025 is task breakdown – I realized that I struggle with this and face starting anxiety as well as properly using the aforementioned technologies.

This blog will continue to chronicle my learnings and reflection. About…?

  • GT EdX: Computing for Data Analysis
  • GT EdX: Data Analytics in Business
  • Data Engineering learning, application, and reflection
  • Machine learning… learning, application, and reflection
  • Electronics, IoT, Smart City, arduinos, adventures with flipper zero, raspberry pis
  • any and all book reflections
  • Slokas (formalize my written notes into posts)
  • maybe, just maybe, I’ll also learn how to and what are my ways to relax this year
